Riva Est LAB — Restaurant in Verbania

Business lunch near the lake. We chose this location because it had many free tables and then we understood why. The location is nice, bright and divided into zones ... bars, ice cream parlors, creperias. The mise en place is simple and on the paper placemat we can see the menu by scanning the QR Code. We each asked for a dish to their taste. A vegan friend asked for the tropical dish but she got a dish containing shrimp along with vegetables and fruit. We pointed this out and they replaced it with another one with the right ingredients. I personally asked for a Tex-Mex dish. All the ingredients (basmati rice, tomatoes, avocado and chicken excluded) came out of the cans. For 12 € they could very well have offered better raw materials. Another friend asked for melon ice cream and coffee. She got a big cup with coffee and MELON ice cream on top! Pointed out to the staff we were told that we would not find it in the bill ... Unfortunately, it was in the bill and it was paid for. I am not used to giving negative reviews, so I will return to the RIVAEST LAB to be able to give a second opinion. A NO day can happen ... I returned to this location for my second opinion and I must say that it has definitely changed. This time we got a Caesar salad and u. dish of raw ham with mozzarella. Sono venuta al locale e sono stata presa in giro per ben due volte in maniera analoga. La prima volta, qualche mese fa, ho comprato una pinsa che sul menù era prezzata a 6€, senza alcuna altra informazione chiara che potesse farmi pensare che il prezzo fosse diverso. Bene, mi reco alla cassa e il prezzo della mia pinsa era improvvisamente salito a 12 € (non che le dimensioni della pizza valessero comunque tale cifra, anzi), questo perché, da quanto riferitomi dalla cameriera, "avevo preso una pinsa intera, non metà", come se qualcuno mi avesse avvisato che tale opzione fosse possibile (ripeto, non è stato specificato da nessuna parte). La seconda volta ho chiesto Frozen yougurt (5 euro su carta), mi hanno servito 3 palline di gelato allo yogurt con sopra guarnizione che comunque nel Frozen yougurt è da sempre compresa nel prezzo, e alla cassa mi hanno fatto pagare 7 euro (tra l'altro per tutte e due le coppe che sono state ordinate) poiché mi è stato detto che "le guarnizioni hanno una maggiorazione, come accade in tutti i posti" (cosa che non accade in tutti i posti e che se accade viene comunque sempre sottolineata; tra l'altro, 2 € per della Nutella e della granella di nocciole è un furto), per poi insistere sul fatto che avessero ragione nonostante il cameriere non avesse specificato nulla e ridandomi alla fine, con fastidio e dissenso, 2 € (comunque sarebbero stati 4€ per due coppe, se avessero voluto davvero...

I don't like the way the leave a ticket on the table after you have ordered. What does it mean.

The ticket might be lost ! Except for coffe is great, good environment despite clientele time to time could be cheap (shouting or scheming ) I ve been there a couple of time.

Staff seemed cordial and cake looked delicious.

Pop by for a nice coffe.
