Pizzeria Mattia’s — Restaurant in Vicenza

We were in 3, two ordered pizzas and I ordered the Caprese Salad, into my third bite there was a long black hair between the slices of DOC mozzarella cheese. I call the waiter over and showed him the hair, didn't say "excuse me or anything similar" I thought he would take away the plate and bring me another one, "didn't happened" they finished their pizza. I eat the two package of breadsticks and a slice of pizza bread that came with the Caprese salad. The hair in the salad match the hair on his head. So as we got up to pay, I politely told him that I wasn't going to pay for the salad. Since I didn't eat it and he didn't bring me another one. He told me he didn't have the authority to not let me pay. He went and talked to the owner. The owner Mattia (hence the name of place) he call me over with the motion of his index finger as if taking to a 3 year old, I am 74. I stop on the side of the pizza oven that had a plexiglass siding, he motion me to come around in front of him with the gesture of his arm, then commence to stare me down as he explained that accidents do happen, he wasn't wearing a hair net or one for his beard. I told him that not my problem. He didn't apologize but he gave the waiter authorization to not make me pay the 13.00€ inwhich I wasn't going to pay at any cost. It didn't have come...

Sono molto titubante nel scrivere questa recensione ma sono anche dell'idea che sia giusto dare un feedback. La pizzeria è piccolina e non ha molti posti a sedere ma tant'è... L'aria condizionata è veramente troppo alta. A me non disturbava e quindi non ho chiesto di abbassarla. Le pizze sono arrivate molto velocemente. Sicuramente perché eravamo in pochi nel locale. Qui parte la prima parte del mio giudizio: pizza veramente ottima. L'impasto è eccezionale e sa veramente da "pane". Fragrante e morbida allo stesso tempo. Gli ingredienti sembrano di qualità e anche il prezzo è onesto. Quello però che ci ha "disturbati" e che purtroppo fa abbassare decisamente il mio voto è stata l'esperienza con il personale. Posso capire che il locale essendo molto piccolo loro abbiano bisogno di fare girare i clienti ma non puoi dirmi solo alle 20:50 che alle 21 dobbiamo sloggiare.. se il tavolo va lasciato ad un certo orario va assolutamente comunicato prima al cliente che decide o meno se prenotare lì in base al servizio che desidera avere. Mi sembra veramente sgarbato.. anche perché abbiamo chiesto una bottiglia d'acqua e ci sentiamo rispondere "eh ma fra 5 Min dovete liberare il tavolo". Non ci avevano ancora chiesto il caffè... In questo modo hanno lasciato scontenti noi e i clienti a seguire che hanno dovuto inevitabilmente aspettare.. ripeto, rispetto il fatto di dover lasciare il tavolo ma solo se comunicato in precedenza. Altra nota negativa secondo me è la confusione di voci dentro al locale.. Ovviamente è causa dei commensali e in questo caso il personale non è responsabile della cosa. Such an outstanding pizzeria! Definitely my favorite one so far in Vicenza. The ingredients are of high quality, and you can tell the moment you bite a piece of that: I could distinctively taste the flavor of the oil, and what a flavor it had! On top of that, the staff is amazing and the interiors are really nice.
