This place is not a go to spot throughout the week. Me and a few people came at 9 pm looking to get food on a Tuesday night. My friends are all Jamaican, but for some reason they felt like treating us different. We came here looking for some good food but when we get here they tell us that the only thing we can get is wings and fries. They are the only thing they have prepared tonight. We don't make a fuss about we tell them we want to orders of the Jamaican bbq and buffalo wings. The man asks us to do we want fries with it or another side. My friends say nah thats cool we will wrong. They gave us a different flavored wing and the wings where tiny. I could litteraly place 6 wings in the palm of my hand. We didn't make it a big issue we just ate and gave thanks. Once it came time for the bill we noticed first that the bill was in US because usually when you look at the bill the total is the boldest thing. I tell the owner we need a bill in Jamaican because they have a menu in only JMD. They told us that they charge foreigners more, but locals less due to their type of currency. They upcharged anywhere from 15 to 20 dollars to foreigners. Also including an extra 15 percent "sales tax" increase written in small print in the bottom right. No other restaurant charged sales taxes when I pay JMD but here. Not the ice cream shop or other restaurants. What I saw is what I paid for. They charged us for barbecue sauce on the wings, appraently thats not free, and for the ranch sauce for dipping the wings and fries. The bartender was not rude, but the quantiny and quality of the food was lacking. I wouldn't reccommend eating here unless you like...

Always go here when I'm in Jamaica. I have never had a bad experience. Food always on par, service always on par, regardless of where I sit (bar or restaurant). Let me just say that the food this trip was first rate (5 stars). Hubby's steam fish was cooked in coconut milk, omg! It was soooo good. I ordered oxtails and I told my waitress if its not falling off the bone soft I don't want it. Well, she brought it and it was soooo goood with my fried bammy. Now let's talk about this Baileys Martini, I had three. I will always keep coming back! Thank you Ravi and Michelle and the staff. The service from my waitress was great. I can't remember her name now but as you can see, service with a smile :) FYI to those who don't know me, I can cook and I know good food when I taste it. Had a plate...

It's been said good customer service in Jamaica is pretty much non existent & unfortunately that was my experience here at John Crows Tavern. There are no signs directing people they can sit where ever they like, which would be helpful to some. There was a mishap with the food I ordered and instead of the server saying anything along the lines of "per policy we don't exchange food orders " he wanted to go back and forth on what was said than what he heard. Which we sat next to speakers playing loud music, so he could have misheard me. I would have completely understood POLICY if that's what was said, but it wasn't. The drinks menu was confusing. The food I ordered was decent. Has a Great vibe even after noonish I'm sure nights are...

We stopped in here and it was the highlight of trip. Tio instantly greeted us and made us feel SO welcome. His energy is amazing and his service impeccable. We got the jerk wings and they were crunchy, hot, and delicious. Love the jerk sauce. We left to try another spot and quickly missed the vibe and Tio’s hospitality…. So- we came back! Haha! Tio continued to give us awesome service, smiles, and fun. Got the soup of the day and the dumplings were incredible. When all said and done- Tio made our trip. He’s a gem and a joy to anyone who is in contact with him. Hope we get to cross paths again someday. Few good people left like this in the world and he’s one of the good ones. Thankful to have dropped by.
