Yoshinori Coffee — Restaurant in Asahikawa

I stay at Hotel Amanek Asahikawa but I do not like buffet hotel breakfasts. Too overwhelming for me in the morning to have so many choices and usually I find the food and coffee to be underwhelming. So I came here across the street. Yes it costs more than the buffet breakfast at my hotel but I love the ambience - peaceful and the meal was great. The bisque soup was very tasty with prawns and vegetables, the rice was soft (though I wish they will give more nori seasoning) and the cappuccino with the latte art was so good! Didn’t need any sugar or milk. It was a little confusing to order but the service staff came when I sought help and patiently guided me thorough the process on my phone. Decent coffee. However the shop has a rigid policy. Apparently they have 2 different shops within the same premise, but the same payment counter. I bought items from one of them and thought I could eat it at the tables there, but I was stopped by the staff to say that I am not allowed to consume food and drinks not from the second shop. Quality coffee roasts and great baristas. I loved the espresso tonic drink which has great balance and coffee on display and the special blend in a French Press. I haven’t had coffee this good pretty much anywhere in Japan.
