Ochazuke is a traditional Japanese comfort-food that consists of pouring hot tea over rice. It's somewhat like porridge, and is very healthy.
I ordered a 'Salmon & Ikura (Salmon egg)' Ochazuke, and it was savory. The tea gives a soothing aroma that can be enjoyed with the rice.
What I particularly enjoyed were the toppings you can help yourself with. One container contains Bonito Flakes while the other contains shredded Nori. On the side, you'll see 'Genmai' which are tiny toasted rice grains that you can sprinkle on.

Read more千葉駅構内で食事をするところに迷ったら、真っ先にお勧めしたいお店です。お茶漬けや丼物など、米を使用したメニューが多く、木製の調度品を揃えているため、和のテイストを前面に押している典型的な食堂のように感じますが、店内は清潔で余計な装飾も無くシンプル、料理の味は勿論盛り付けも素晴らしく、最後まで美味しくいただくことが出来ました。何より、店員のハキハキとした元気な対応でありながらも、適度に距離を保った接客は、最後まで心地よく感じられました。
