MAISON KAYSER Makuhari Shop — Restaurant in Chiba

Stuff skip us when queuing and skipping customer insulted me as cheese head because I am foreigner.

We really liked the store before but this is already the second time the staff treating us in an unfair manner. We wanted to have coffee on the terrace with our baby and dog. While my wife was queuing for the terrace, I went inside the store to check if we can directly sit outside. In the meantime the staff skipped my wife, treated as if she is air and pulled the guy behind us to the next seat in the terrace. He also took the last baby chair. When we complained to the staff that we were in front of the other guy and his family the staff told us we can’t sit here anymore because there have no vacant baby chair for us and without baby chair we are not allowed to sit there.

After we complained to the restaurant manager Shimoda-san he apologized. But in the meantime when I asked the guy who skipped us why he stole our seat (in English, as my Japanese is unfortunately not good enough) he run to my wife. If I didn’t go to him and my wife didn’t say she will call police once he touches her he stopped. He insulted me as bald(はげ) and cheese guy. Credit to the racist creativity 😂

After that the guy who skipped us and his family left. The restaurant manager only apologized. Only after we asked his name he offered free coffee.

Result- ifI were Japanese this would not have happened, the staff didn’t skip my wife and the racist guy would not bother us.

Very disappointing to see that this behavior is encouraged by the coffee store‘s staff...

The only lunch option were just 3 choices and all had meat. They let let me buy bread as an exception but very bad service. Communication is lacking between staff and lack of training. No smiles or warm words from any of the staff. Felt very unwelcome. We ate at the table. Took a long time to take away empty plates. I asked if the bread I bought and would eat there be warmed and the female staff just said “over there” when I paid at the cashier. Apparently needed to ask the staff at the table seats again so felt reluctant. My friend asked for me. They didn’t even offer plates for the bread… Been to other overseas branch but...

Disappointed. First, you have to wait in line outside. Lunch menu had only two options. Both 1,450¥. What you get is a small plate of soup, plate of not fresh bread and half a cup of tea(Why is it half? I really don’t get). You can’t get full with it. I guess the idea is to stuff yourself with leftovers of bread you get served? But they can’t even serve you a full...
