Tonkatsu Shinjuku Saboten Perie Chiba — Restaurant in Chiba

Solo lunch at this place was awesome. Not sure why there’s so many bad reviews. I had a really pleasant experience, there was a very short wait for the staff to clean the table and i was quickly served with the english menu. Waiters was always nearby to call for help if needed and they tried to accommodate me as best as they can.

The oolong tea was served along with the sesame seeds. After some grinding the waitress brought over a huge fresh pile of salad that tasted really good with the dressing. After adding the tonkatsu sauce to the sesame the main highlight arrived.

150g of Sabo Red with a very light and not oily crust and crumbs that were poking the sky arrived. Each bite bursted with juice and flavor of the amazing meat. It tastes even better with the sauce and rice combined with the salad.

The miso was delightful to wash the meal down and they were several pieces of mushrooms in it which is quite generous.

One of the best i’ve had in a long time and highly recommend. Would go again with friends.

The pork tonkatsu (both loin and tenderloin) are very good. I ordered the thick loin, and it is so tender and juicy. Pork is flavorful, and it should be 4 stars. The chessy one is ok. If you love cheese, then you should order it. The crab mixture thing....... It's just terrible. I don't even know what it is. I thought it was like a deep-fried fake crab meat. So that's why the overall food is 3 stars. The cabbage, miso soup, and rice are all you can eat. The kelp high ball drink is interesting. The regular highball with the kelp vegetable juice, so there is a bit bitter taste. There is a small bowl of roast sesame, and you need to use the small rod to crush the sesame to powder form. Today, I felt like eating tonkatsu for lunch, so I went to a restaurant called "Saboten" near the station.
