I cannot recommend this spot highly enough. Understated decor and a quiet location disguise the complexity that lies within.
It’s best to order one of the Omakase courses. There are several options ranging from lighter to extravagant, based on how much you’d like to eat. (There is also an a la carte menu.)
The chef is a culinary genius; every component of the meal was surprising and delightful. He speaks very good English and carefully explained the nuances of each plate. From the fresh, house-made walnut baguette at the beginning to the strawberry cardamom compote and panna cotta at the close, I was amazed by the subtlety and flawless execution.
There is a nice wine selection as well. I only tried red, but the Bordeaux and Cabernet that I had were both incredible.
