This was a chanced discovery when my family visited Chitose a year back. We leaped at the opportunity to visit this Katsu restaurant again when we entered Chitose this evening. The pork katsu with their special made sauce is just out of the world. Comes in a set with a choice of soups and rice. The home made pickled dishes were really tasty and comes free flow. The Katsu is made on the spot in your full view with fresh pork loin and bread crumbs. The texture of the katsu is soft, tender and juicy with a crispy batter of crumbs wrapping round it. Fantastic place for tonkatsu. Open concept kitchen so we can see the chefs waiting for us to order before breading and frying our meal. we ordered a mix of tenderloin, loin, prawn and oysters. Meat was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Rice and salad is free flow. There's 3 types of rice and 2 types of soup to choose from. Service staff were helpful and one spoke some English and could readily offer the English menu and took our orders without mistakes. Reasonable pricing. This is a restaurant that i highly recommend. The portions are big and if you fly in and reach around 2 to 3 pm and you are hungry, this is the go to place.
