Naritaya — Restaurant in Fujioka

Amazing sweets' shop about an hour and a half from Tokyo! We stopped here on our way back from Kusatsu and we do not regret it! This is a family owned business that has been serving the community for more than 85 years and I hope they stay around for many more.

Their signature creation: たまごまんじゅう was the perfect snack 😋 it was created by Masako-san's father (r.i.p) and it has been a great hit. The son, Youichi-san, is the one in charge of all the delicous pastries like the strawberry cake 🍰, the coffee cupcakes 🧁 and the pudding 🍮.

Hello from 7,000 miles away in Florida, USA. This place is great, please do yourself a favor and visit here and try their decades old local favorite creation Egg Manju. They’ve been around for 85 years and I fully expect them to last at least another 85 if my experience there taught me anything.
