Genroku Tonkatsu & Steak — Restaurant in Fujiyoshida

I was shocked by the appalling level of service, especially since the place was just recently renovated!Two days ago, I visited the restaurant with a friend and we ordered the "Hirekatsu Set Meal (Matsu)" and the "Hirekatsu Set Meal (Take)". The menu did not specify the difference between Matsu and Take, so we asked the server, who told us, "The amount of meat is different!" After waiting for about 15 minutes, our hirekatsu set meals arrived, and to our surprise, the portions looked exactly the same!

I thought, "Maybe there's a mistake?" and informed the server. However, they replied, "There is no problem." Insisting, "No, they look exactly the same to me," the server said, "I'll check with the kitchen." When they returned, the response was still, "There is no problem." Puzzled, I asked the server, "Do you personally think there is no problem?" to which they responded with a vague, "Well..." Not wanting to make a fuss, I hesitantly suggested, "Could you weigh the portions for Matsu and Take?" They went back to the kitchen and, upon returning, admitted, "It was our mistake. Here are the correct portions." Clearly, the new portions were quite different! Although I didn't take photos, it was obvious that Matsu and Take had significantly different amounts!

Throughout the meal, the inexplicable level of service continued, and even at the checkout, the server's attitude was indifferent, simply saying, "Here's your bill."

I've written a fair number of reviews on Google Maps, mostly giving 4 to 5 stars, but this experience was so terrible that I felt compelled to write this lengthy review. The restaurant had high ratings before the renovation, but based on my recent visit, relying on those reviews will lead to a very disappointing...

Most unfriendly experience.

Us 2 adult and our 2 year old child were seated and shown the menu.

They said we have to order 1 item per person. My child does not eat pork or beef which was the main meat on the menu - and she only eats chicken. We agreed to order 3 main dish nonetheless!

However they did not even allow her to open a pack of seaweed or eat some simple food we packed. It was already close to 7pm and my poor child was hungry. This is the most unfriendly restaurant ever. DO NOT go here.

No wonder the restaurant was almost empty even on weekends. Poor customer service and poor...
