Shishima is a bit hidden, near Fukui station. This is a fantastic little chic restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy, hosted by a couple of fantastic and sweet people. It may seem a little expensive from the outside but the quality of the dishes, the softness and depth of the fresh sashimi are unbeatable. We definitely ate half of the dishes available on the menu and tried various Nihonshu with it. You can either choose for yourself or completely trust the owners for a perfect pairing with your dishes via their Omakase (we went with Madame this time). We had a long chat with the owners while tasting the food, it was a great time and we wish it to everyone who wants to enjoy a real Japanese place of such high standard. I hope to return soon.
