I went on a trip to Fukui for the first time and thought I should leave some reviews in English and French of the restaurants and bars I enjoyed during that time!

I'm not the type of person who looks for pubs or bars that are too famous or attractive, loud and fancy, at least not in Japan. What I look for most of the time here for an ideal bar is this dark atmosphere, with either an old gentleman serving you good drinks in the middle of an old wooden counter, or the equivalent with an Onii-san (or Onee-san) more rock/punky and young, and here is the later. The owner is really open-minded, is a musician, would happily share food with you (thanks again for the Goya) and play some of your favorite old music until late at night. If you're feeling like a late owl, wandering into a place where you could behave and call home, while still enjoying the presence of good guys, this is the place to go.

Note: thank you for the invitation to the barbecue and sorry I couldn't make it to the second day. Say « hi » to the Inui-san from Osaka as well for me! See you next time!

J'ai fait un court voyage de quelques jours à Fukui et j'ai pensé que je devrais laisser quelques critiques en anglais et en français sur les restaurants et bars que j'ai appréciés !

Je ne suis pas du genre à rechercher des pubs ou des bars trop populaires ou trop attrayants, bruyants et chics, du moins pas au Japon. Ce que je recherche la plupart du temps ici comme bar idéal, c'est cette ambiance sombre, avec soit un vieux monsieur vous servant de bons verres au milieu d'un vieux comptoir en bois, soit l'équivalent avec un Onii-san (ou Onee-san) plus rock/punky et jeune, et ici on est plus dans le second cas. Le propriétaire est vraiment ouvert d'esprit, est musicien, partagerait volontiers de la nourriture avec vous (merci encore pour le Goya) et jouerait avec plaisir l’une de vos musiques préférées jusque tard dans la nuit. Si vous vous sentez comme un couché-tard, qui aime a s’errer dans des endroits cool que l’on pourrait qualifier de chez-soi, tout en profitant de la présence de bons gars, c'est...

I would review this place but we got there five minutes before they opened with the owner sitting there with the lights on and door open. He told us he doesn't open for 5 more minutes. So we took our money...

Meet friendly people, listen to music, bar master is good people. Definitely recommend when you're in Fukui...
