FukuFuku Chaya — Restaurant in Fukui

Laid back restaurant in the mall to try ECHIZEN crab in Fukui the home to ECHIZEN crab where they live off the coast of Fukui. Was able to try female seikogani ECHIZEN crab as well as the male gani ECHIZEN crab. Female ECHIZEN crab has less meat than a male ECHIZEN crab but found the meat to be more tender and less stringy than that from a male ECHIZEN crab. The roe that comes with the female ECHIZEN crab is extremely rich and creamy and is a great pleasure to experience. Would definitely order the female ECHIZEN crab rice next time as the rich roe would be great mixed with rice. Ordering the roe on its own is much too concentrated to enjoy on its own.

Sweet shrimp was also a great dish and can feed many. ECHIZEN soba is also a must try and has an appealing chew and flavor not found in other non-ECHIZEN sobas.

Would recommend FukuFuku Chaya for ECHIZEN crab if you wanted a sit down experience. On the contrary you can always go to the train station food section where you can buy ECHIZEN crab prepackaged from a stall to take away with you if you have moths coming out of...

福井駅周辺に宿泊した時駅周辺で目星をつけていましたが、その店が満席などで行けずさ迷っていた時にここに着きました。 メニューを見ると観光客には願っても無い地元名産の名前がずらり。 駅前の観光フードコートみたいな感じだし、席が2割位しか埋まっておらずのんびり出来そうなので入ってみました。 入店前にメニューを見れるので価格など分かりやすくて良い感じ。 ある程度決めてから入店しました。

決めたメニューとビールを注文しようと思っていたら、テーブルに「福井サーモン丼」とか思っても無い奴がありました。 海鮮丼にしようと思っていたけど変更して注文。 しばらくするとビールが来たけどジョッキがでかい。 しかもバタピー付き。 これはシンプルで良い。

待っている間メニューを見てると地酒もそこそこな品揃えが。 そんな中呑み比べセットを発見。 後に頼みましたがどれも美味しく、その酒の一部が隣の土産屋さんで販売してるって言う商売上手。 でも味を確かめられて満足したのでその後2本買って帰りました。

肝心のサーモン丼はシンプルな見た目ですが、こってりせず適度な脂が乗ってて歯ごたえも良い感じ。 日本人が好きそうなサーモンだと思います。 イクラもしょっぱすぎず美味しかったですが、何よりご飯が美味かった。 ご飯のみでもいける位。 期待していた味以上の満足度でした。
