The place is okay at best. The food is avg...I really am not sure what the rave is all about. But what really gets you is the service.
It’s right near my house so I really wanted to love this place - less than 5 min walk comes real handy when you’re feeling lazy. This is why I’ve tried this place TWICE despite of the bad experience I had at the first place.
The first time, there was an excuse - it was Sunday and they had a group of 12 coming in right after us. I sure wasn’t pleased when somehow we got to have our foods after the group. Yet, this is a place of business and I gave them credit for it even though our food took longer than 1 HOUR to be placed on our table.
The second time, it was just yesterday. I thought since it was a weekday AFTER the dinner time (around 8:30PM), we won’t have the same issue as the last time - I couldn’t Have been more wrong. The place was half empty when we arrived yet somehow our food comes out at least 40 min. after ordering. Our order even went to the different table, the one came after us, before coming to our table as well. There was also a kid, about 10 years old boy, who seems to be a relative of the owner. He began to whine on the chair, laying down, to get the automatic skateboard. And when he got it, he began to scooter around the entire restaurant and the NO ONE FROM THE RESTAURANT was stopping him. Thankfully we didn’t have to stay long after he began to show off his skateboard but I felt horrible for the people who were still at the restaurant.
As we left, we both said not to ever come back....this really was one of the most horrible experiences I’ve ever had at any restaurants. They really picked a good place to open a business - right across from Camp Forster. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be able to stay in business as with this sort of service.
Will never be...
Read moreGreat experience. I love the fact you can get a set and try 4 different curries and it comes with everything else you might want. Salad, soup, drinks and dessert all for one price. It was just a bit over 4000 yen.
I'd recommend the special naan. I originally chose the plain, but my friend got this special one that was filled with cheese and had oregano on top (might have been some other spices but I didn't look into it). Reminded me a bit of a pizza like flavor with no sauce, very tasty.
The menu is full of photos so you have an indication of what you are ordering. Everything we ordered tasted good. There was nothing average that we had here. The curries chosen were: Butter chicken Shrimp masala Lamb curry Fish dakai We did the mango lassi and strawberry lassi for the drinks with the set dinner. On the menu it said drink but we were allowed to order two. The meal seems like it's for two as it came with two salads and two soups as well as to desserts. The naan bread that came with the meal was uncut, but my friend who ordered a separate meal hers was cut up.
Parking was relatively easy as they have a private lot in the back. This place does get very busy at dinner though so you might have problems if you come a...
Read moreOne of the best curries I have had in a long time. When I am in Asia, eating curry is at the top of my list. As someone who doesn't eat meat, it's not always the easiest option in Japan. We (Son, Daughter (in-law) and Grandson) went for lunch today. Great kids menu for our little guy who is just over 2. He had the chicken curry plate with nan and went to town. I had the mixed vegetable curry with nan and I am still in heaven. My son and daughter (I can't remember what they had) but there was nothing left and the sounds of pleasure from across the table spoke volumes.
We also ordered the Momo and Samosa. Both really incredible! YUM!!!!
Great service. Just a really easy place to have traditional Nepalese food. Beautiful and fresh. I highly recommend for those that want homey service with fresh food.
Thanks for the great lunch and wonderful service. We...
