Bon — Restaurant in Hachinohe

I wish this izakaya existed when I lived in Misawa years ago. But now when coming north from Tokyo, this place will be one of my must-do places to eat, drink, and relax.

This Japanese chef/owner has run the place for over 20 years, learned English when backpacking the world, and fell in love with cooking in general and Thai food in particular. His khao man gai is absolutely to die for. His recommended gyoza ranks near the top on my list. He loves to be creative and has some of his own dishes influences by his travels. Anyone living in or near Hachinohe really needs to check out this place.

This restaurant is absolutely wonderful!! Really hip and cozy atmosphere. The chef speaks very fluent English. Since the menu wasn't in English, he asked if he could cook me and my husband dishes he'd like us to try. Man, we weren't disappointed. A good selection of local craft beer, Thankyou Google for this useful recommendation. Our excellent craft beer came with some small, tasty snacks, which were much appreciated.
