We couldn't find any fish restaurant that served fish that isn't sashimi. And it was nearing 2pm and almost all restaurants in Hagi are closing so we were really desperate to find a place to eat lunch. We went to the tourist information center at Hagi Meirin Gakusha. And they recommended this one (they say they serve cooked fish). So we came here only to find out that all fish on the menu are "sold out". Such a shame! So we ordered the chicken curry and the 3 meal course (meat, sashimi and tempura donburi). The food was ok, nothing special. The service was ok, they acted as if my husband can't speak Japanese (he's German and he speaks fluent japanese) and kept looking only at me ( I am asian but not japanese and my husband speaks waaaaaay better than me lol) so it was a it uncomfortable. All in all, it was an ok restaurant. And they were open an hour later than other restaurants...

・山口県萩市にある「萩･明倫学舎」の中で営業されていらっしゃる「萩･明倫レストランカフェ 萩暦」さん。 ・萩藩校明倫館の跡地で平成26年まで授業が行われていた旧明倫学校小学校校舎が、「萩･明倫学校」という観光スポットに生まれ変わり、その中で営業されていらっしゃいます。

・萩駅から徒歩で約25分歩いて訪問もできますが、車で行かれた方が楽ですかね。駐車場が普通車1日310円で利用できます。

・結論から言います。よくある観光スポット併設レストランだろう･･･と侮るなかれ！！！大きな期待をせずに入店した自分を恥じるほどに、しっかり美味しいレストラン、でした。

・特に驚きなのが、お刺身の美味しさ。併設レストランで、調理した揚げ物や焼き物が美味しいのは想定内なのですが、お刺身が美味しいのは想定外でした。いや、もしかしたら、頂いたお料理の中で、一番うなったのがお刺身かもしれません。

・「萩暦特選ランチセット（1,980円）」「魚と肉と野菜のミニ3丼セット（1,980円）」を頂いたのですが、ランチセットにはお刺身として、丼セットには海鮮丼としてついてくる鮮魚。特にイカが甘くて甘くて。久ぶりに「旨いイカ」を食べた気がしました。小さくですが「旨いっ！」とつぶやかずにはいられないクオリティでした。 ・もちろん、ランチの小鉢料理も、牛丼も天ぷら丼も、どれも美味しいですし、何より盛り付けが素敵。素敵な盛り付けで美味しいものを出されたら、、、もう満足以外の何物でもないですよね。たしかに、約2,000円のお値段は決して安い！とはいえないのですが、このクオリティなら納得のお値段です。1,000円レンジのお食事もありますが、せっかく訪れたなら、是非2,000円レンジのお食事を楽しまれることを私は強くお勧めします！！！

・残念ながら今回は品切れ？になっていた「はぎ御膳（2,400円）」も必ず一度は食べてみたいです。次回はこちらを食べれたら嬉しいものです。

・ミュージアムやお土産売店、子供の遊び場「あそぼー舎」など、様々な施設で遊び愉しみつつ、こちらの「萩暦」さんで想定外の美味しい！を感じるランチを頂く。とても良いプランで満足でした。ご馳走様でした。

Whenever I have friends visiting the town, I'll bring them here for a lunch. It is close to the main bus stop, got a large parking area, has a great vibe, Hagi city specialtiy menus, and pretty reasonable price (not for casual/everyday meal tho). It is also inside of Meirinkan, which is a former school with its Meiji school style, with a small free museum (300 yen if you want the full experience) to learn one or two things about Hagi City.
