Excellent place. The chefs are making the food on the grill in front of the customers. Behind the chefs is a wonderful lit garden, contributing to a very nice atmosphere. I ordered a bacon steak, and although I didn't expect an actual steak made of bacon, it was really delicious. For dessert I had "two types of ice-cream". The ice-cream was white chocolate and green tea. The green tea ice-cream was a bit bitter, and not the best I've had, but I'm not a huge fan of green tea. The white chocolate ice-cream was delicious. The place brews it's own beer, and I had hacy IPA and a stout. The IPA was nice, but the stout was more like a hopped brown ale. Too hoppy and too much carbonated to even be near a stout. Now I'm picky, 'cause the beer was very tasty, just not true to the style. I watched the chefs making the other dishes at the meny, and that seems to have very high quality. Most of the dishes was for 2-3 persons, and I missed more opportunities for a single person. All together it was a delicious meal, and I truly loved the atmosphere at the restaurant - and the food was really delicious. The only thing I missed was my wife, because I wanted to shear this meal with her.

The sister restaurant of Itoh Dining that is just as worth visiting, though the atmosphere and experience is quite different here. It is more laid back and can be a good place to enjoy alone. We made a reservation and visited on a Monday afternoon. The craft beers were incredibly refreshing, and the food was fantastic. We especially enjoyed the tuna sashimi dish and grilled chicken with veggies that were cooked in front of us at the counter seats. The chicken was succulent and tender with a smoky flavour, and the skin nice and crisp. The veggies were delicious in their own right but were a great accompaniment to the chicken. All items were nicely presented and we truly enjoyed watching the chefs in action! We also appreciated the restaurant layout which allowed plenty of sunlight to stream in. You get to enjoy a lovely view of greenery through the large glass panel behind the kitchen. Would love to visit again.

Eat literally anywhere else. Bring your own food even. Just don’t go here. It’s overpriced bc it’s using Nobu’s name and maybe bc it’s in Hakone so you’re limited by location/how much you want to walk. But the food is mediocre at best. It’s like paying fancy food prices for izakaya food. The duck was like the roast beef version of duck - no flavor . The fried potatoes were regular roasted potatos (I would have preferred real French fries) and were also rather flavorless. The bacon steak was basically a hunk of ham - would’ve been better if they actually sliced it up and glazed and roasted that way. The spicy edamame also lacked flavor. The cheese board was good; I’m not mad at it. The fried chicken was good - on par with izakaya karaage but it Might be the only thing I recommend. The inside is pretty and mood lighting is nice. Maybe you really just want a beer tho, that seems pretty reasonably priced. We didn’t try the pricier menu items and maybe those are actually good… but I feel like you can get a better deal (cheaper and more quantity) in Tokyo/anywhere else. Foot bath 100. Warning: it is really hot tho. But def recommend to try. It’s free.

The waiter who greeted us at the entrance was quite unfriendly. When we requested to sit at the counter facing the windows, he initially refused, stating it was reserved. Even though no one showed up for that table for half an hour (and no one showed up until we were done eating), he hesitated for a while before eventually allowing us to sit there. He seemed to be the only staff member who spoke English, but his demeanor was anything but welcoming—no smiles, no polite greetings. We also overheard arguments in the kitchen, adding to the tense atmosphere. It's possible he might be the owner or manager, but he seemed to run the place more out of fear than passion. The food was average and highly overpriced, and we were also compelled to order a drink each person as he insisted it was mandatory, our kids were under age so we ended up getting some juices. Overall, I would NOT recommend this place; the lack of warmth and hospitality made it an unwelcoming experience.

While we were initially very impressed by the creative menu and atmosphere, for the exorbitant price we paid we received very poor service (and they even charged a service charge which is not typical for Japan and a consumption tax). We ordered several delicious appetizers (ceviche and mushrooms) as well as the wagyu beef and lamb chops. The wagyu beef was over cooked, which was a disappointment for 9,500¥. However, the most striking part of the dinner was the fact that the service was practically non-existent. All of our dishes were left on the table throughout the meal, we didn’t get any entree plates, and we needed to ask for utensils. After the main course, dessert was delivered with all the other plates still on the table, steak knives and bones included (see picture). We noticed all the other tables in the restaurant were similarly unattended. Considering the meal was 32,000¥ ($320) for 5 people we were expecting much better service and food.

Looks great and nice to have seating in front of the chefs. However we were rushed in and out, which I have never experienced except in non-Japanese train station restaurants. I think for food would be good, although nobu nearby seems to offer a better quality for same price perhaps. If you want to drop in for a beer this place is a great choice. But maybe not within 20-30 minutes of closing or you may get rushed. Overall a great choice for a few local craft beer options. However other local restaurants seem to go the extra-mile for a better price. EDIT** Returned the next day and had food also. When going with lot’s of time to spare, the experience was much better. Service was efficient and sitting in front of the cooking team was a great experience. I recommend sitting on the right of the cooking station (and personally Kohaku and Rising Sun are nice local beer options). Very good food and price is appropriate.
