This has got to be one of my top things to do in Hakone. I stayed the night in Gora after a huge day travelling and exploring from shinjuku. Trains, buses, cable car trams pirate ship. I was glad I organised a night in Gora. I arrived as soon as it opened. There was a bit of a line up. Not many. Easy to get to. It was cloudy day so it was quite cool. It has the potential of being super hot. There are plenty of places to sit. Not really a place to have a family picnic but you could definitely take food there and sit on one of the seats and eat. Some of the sculptures move and there are little secret spots to into. So take the time to enjoy this beautiful place. Galleries. Play areas for kids. There's are really cool rope area for kids. I chose not to go in.. being childless and all but from what I could see and hear they were having a blast. There's a cafe and a restaurant on site. The buffet was 2200 yen which is reasonable especially after a morning of walking around. The food was good. I am Sharing a few photos but they don't it justice

A very inspiring gallery showing works of Picasso laid out in a way that tell the story of the artist, rather than arranged by periods or styles. I got a real idea of how much Picasso loved the people and the simple beauty around him to portray them so often and so intimately in his art. It made me very inspired. Photos inside are carefully monitored, so don’t expect any photos from inside. Go in with an open mind!

As I didn’t realise phones weren’t allowed in the exhibitions, I took my phone out to take a picture on Monday 30th October 2023 at around 4:30pm. This was met with a late 30s to 40s woman with a full fringe who started screaming ‘no no no!’ At me while quite literally charging towards me. I was really frightened and put my hand out in front of my body to protect myself. I immediately put my phone away and apologised. The woman still continued charging at me.

This was completely unnecessary, scary, and violent. This left me with a very sour taste in my mouth and almost in tears, and as a result, I would never come back again. I hope staff get proper training to deal with situations like this more...

A must visit for art lovers and art students, and a great exhibit overall for most people. There are around 100 genuine Picasso art pieces, not only of Cubism paintings but also his works on ceramics, sculpting, and metal engraving. All signs are both in Japanese and English, and narrates how his art evolves throughout his life.

The place is within the Hakone Open Air Museum complex, so you have no reason not to visit if you're going to the...
