Atsumi — Restaurant in Hamamatsu

I came to Atsumi-san, an eel restaurant located in Chitose-cho, Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. This time, I ordered Joju (5,950 yen including tax) and others. I came around 12.30 PM on a Thursday and the staff said that it is full for the entire lunch time. So I came back for dinner 5 minutes before its opening, and the staff gave everyone a number and time for when they can enter. Since I came early, I entered immediately and was treated right. The service was very good in my opinion. They also have an English menu. However, other customers who came later were asked to come a little later with a number and time for when they can enter and order. I love Unagi!! The Unagi here was not bad, but too soft for my taste (prefer more crispier). The place is very close to the station and has been there since 1907. An authentic unagi restaurant conveniently located in the city center. Restaurant takes reservations only by phone (and in Japanese) so get your Japanese friend or a hotel staff to call. Or, you can queue on stand-by. If they are full they would instruct you to come back at a specified time later. Una-ju (with sause) is excellent. Fluffy but with some crisp on the surface. Delicious.
