Sunny Side Kitchen — Restaurant in Hayama

Big portions, delicious food, and easy, free parking nearby. Atmosphere was nice, chill, and family friendly with large windows shining the sun through with a view of beautiful foliage. Offered plenty of seating options with large indoor tables for families, outdoor seating, and a no-shoes tatami-style dining area as well.

We ordered the Chicken & Waffle (Full Order, which includes two large pieces of Chicken), the Grilled Ceasar Salad (including a delicious pork strip), and a kids order of Chicken Tenders and Fries. The chicken was seasoned really well, had a great crispness to it and juicy and tender, perfectly cooked. Everything came in very large portions which I wasn’t expecting but was happy to see (I felt we definitely got our money’s worth)!

To drink, we also ordered the Lemongrass Lemonade, Mango Mix juice for the kids and a coffee. The Lemonade looked great but tasted a bit like sweet water to me, and didn’t taste like Lemonade I’d typically enjoy (that may just be my own preference though so don’t let that dissuade you from seeing for yourself) and I would’ve ordered the Homemade Ginger Ale if given...

Ordered the majito and it was fantastic. I very much enjoy it. I would say it was made perfect.

Order the sunny side burger with bacon. Holy bacon! I don't think I've seen such a thick piece of bacon. It was good. Not sure what the pink sauce was but regardless it was tasty. The bun was moist and good. Patty was pink in the middle and I thought it was delicious. Although certain parts seemed more rare than pink but over all I thought it was a good burger.

Shoe string fries were pretty good. Hard to mess those up

I'll be coming back to try a standard bacon cheese burger. I didn't see that on the menu nor a way to order it. Maybe I should have asked. I wish the menu was a Lil more descriptive.

But! That being said the overall experience was great and the food was good. I would recommend giving Sunnyside...

Been meaning to go here for a while since we live nearby in Hemi. This an American style hybrid brunch/BBQ/sandwiches etc … it has a farm to table type of feel. Very cozy setting. Located next to a golf driving range, so typically always easy free parking shared with golfers. They have a few tables with chairs/bench seating for larger groups. Also a tatami room type where you can take off your shoes and have a larger private room. A few slots of counter space for singles or couples. Clean restrooms, VERY friendly staff, fundamental English speaking. Kid friendly as well. The food was great, big portions!
