Hirosaki Sushi Sakura — Restaurant in Hirosaki

Chanced upon this restaurant as it was near our hotel. Reservation was made via the hotel’s concierge. Waited one hour for the food to come but all was forgiven once I tasted the sushi. Wow! Very glad to have a chance to eat here. Had the omakase sushi set and it was delicious. Ingredients were very fresh and can tell the chef’s skill by the rice. Outstanding ones were the white shrimp and the otoro. Another very interesting one was the herring roe attached to konbu. All these for 6000 yen for 15 pieces! So good I am going back tomorrow to try out the other dishes. If you ever happen to be in Hirosaki, do yourself a favor...

Very beautiful restaurant, with very friendly staff and great sushi. I only had the lunch time omakase nigiri course and I'm sure the "proper" one during dinner time would be excellent. I also received quick explanations for each nigiri as it was served...
