Meh....
I saw this place last time I was in Omishima, and was very intrigued. Ino Shishi (wild boar) ramen! Cool!(Unfortunately it was shut that day)
So, finally I could try it today!
But....
Me & my two buddies ordered the 3 ramen dishes available: Salt (Shio), Soy Sauce (Shoyu) & Miso.
I was expecting a thick, full flavoured soup, (a little stinky in a good way?), but was very disappointed. I had the soy sauce ramen, and the taste was thin. I was very surprised! Not at all what I was expecting, and didn’t look anything like the photos on their home page. The noodles were over cooked too. A big no no!
Of the 3, I think the miso had the “thickest” taste, but by no means thick like a good miso ramen should be. But I think that the salt ramen was the best. My friends disagree, and think it was the miso. The best point was the boar “Cha Shu”, sliced meat. Very fresh & tender.
Anyway, it’s something different. So if you wanna try “Shi Shi Kotsu”, go for it! If you love “Assari” over “Kotteri”, you’ll like it. It’s just not for...

Flavor is much more mild and lighter than typical tonkatsu/pork bone ramen - very simple taste bowl with some sweetness from negi and tartness from adding lemon. The boar chashu is very lean but has a tender and almost sweet gamey flavor.
