We visited on a Sunday evening.Very friendly welcome.One of the customers who spoke some English very kindly acted as a translator and explained choice of à la carte or set menu.We opted for set menu which included a beer or glass of wine.My husband chose the meat option and I chose the fish. The meal arrived beautifully presented with miso soup, rice and various local veg plus salad with choice of dressing. The lady who served us (owner?) Was very smiley and friendly and brought us over 2 local citrus fruits with the Japanese names written on them. Read moreThe food here is great. Standouts for me were the piiman-niku (green pepper stuffed with minced chicken), eringi mushroom skewers with butter and soy sauce, and the "kawayaki" (which, from what I had, seems to be teppanyaki chicken, skin on?).
More importantly than the food, as a single foreign customer I felt very comfortable walking into this place (Google, btw, takes you round the back... just turn left on the main road out of the station and you'll get there) and happily sat at the counter.
