SALTIDA — Restaurant in Ishigaki

Where to start...consistent queuing, non existent COVID control and average food.

Yes - they have COVID measures in place but when no one follows them what’s the point? We actually stopped going to the restaurant as it was too concerning. I realize we take a risk traveling at this time but this was on another level.

The food is fine but nothing unique to the area, pastry is shocking and the selection is small. We had multiple wrong orders delivered to our table no less than five times at breakfast...

Most disappointing was the service we received when we came to have a drink on the terrace one evening. I appreciate there are a large number of foreign guests and maybe the staff are for whatever reason aggrieved or jaded...but never have I felt so unwelcome in my time living in or traveling to Japan. If it is too hard to simply welcome a guest or treat us with the minimum level of respect then perhaps don’t bother working in a bar at a five star international resort.

Needs considerable work to be at the minimum standard expected for this type of hotel and the price...

The food was presented well but each dish lacked in some aspect. We ordered ala carte to get the chefs freshly cooked specialities. The Soft shell crabs we're extremely. The roast pork was very gamey. The Bolognese was good , but not extraordinary, and the seafood pasta was watery. The best part of the meal was the Caesar salad. I'm generally not a fan of chicken in my Caesar salad, I prefer anchovies, however this chicken appeared to be a fresh roasted chicken carved off the bone-juicy. The service was perfunctory. The breakfast here is good, big choice of Japanese and non Japanese dishes. The tuna bowl is delicious!

Lunch was very disappointing. The appetizers were good but all the mains were bad. My sons burger was bloody, not edible at all. The bolognese has some sorts of beet root sauce which created very unappetizing feeling.
