Arroz Spanish Restaurant — Restaurant in Kanazawa

I visited here a couple times in the past few years and loved it but this time I went back with some family members as I highly recommended it but I was so disappointed. The floors were dirty, the English menu was very poorly written, the food was cold and tasteless, we asked the waiter to bring us a few bottles of Tempranillo to choose from but he brought us a bottle opened and just poured it .. it was a very cheap, daily wine, personally being a sommelier I wanted a say in this. I didn’t mention it at the time as I had faith in the restaurant as it once was very well spoken about among food critics but I think that day has passed. Honestly speaking it was a really bad investment for money, we even went somewhere after to try and end the evening on a good note. There are better places around so it’s worth skipping here. 友人にこのお店を激推しされ、レビューも高かったので、金沢を発つ前の最後の思い出にと、予約して恋人とわくわくしながら訪問。 が、「期待値が高すぎたな」というのが正直な感想。 ⁡ るんるんでコースを2人分頼み、ピルピルを白子のものに、パエリアをカニのものに変更。 （少し前に訪れたため、季節的にメニューにない場合があるかも） 生ハム→ピルピルとバゲット→本日の一品→サラダ→パエリア→デザートの順に出てきた。　本日の一品が何かを聞けばよかったが、この時点では何が来るかわからなかった。 それぞれのお料理の感想は最後に。 ⁡ 飲酒なしで、2人で15,000円くらい（ピルピルやパエリアを変更したため、メニュー表に記載のものより値段は上がっている）。 お値段を考えると、同じくらいか、あるいはずっと安くても幸せな気持ちで帰路につけるお店がいくらでもあるので、再挑戦はしない。 コースにせず少量のお料理を食べていたら、白子やカニのものにメニューを変更しなかったら、また感想は違ったのかもしれない。 本日の一品が違うだけでも印象は変わると思うけど…。 ⁡ そもそも、1階は常連客（っぽい雰囲気の人）や年配の方ばかりで、店主が対応していたが、2階は自分達含めて若い客ばかりで、バイトさんがお料理を作っているように見えた。 常連やお金を使ってくれそうなお客さんと、学生や若いお客とで扱いが違うのかもしれない。 そういえば薦めてくれた友人も、店長の知り合いの知り合いだった。 なので、一見さんは中年以降の人なら素敵な時間が過ごせるかも。 ⁡ お会計は席でするタイプで、カード支払いをお願いしたら、カードを持って行かれて、そこそこ長い時間帰ってこなかったので、少し怖かった。 別のお店ではカード支払いをお願いすると、読み込む端末を席まで持ってきてくれたが、そのような機械がないなら、支払い者だけでも1階に行って操作しているのが見えるようにしてくれたら安心なのにな、と思った。 ⁡ かなり楽しみにしながら訪れたので、その日は少し悲しかったけど、今は笑い話の経験になった。 お酒はいろんな種類があり、お酒が好きな人なら楽しそう。 ⁡ 〈それぞれのお料理について〉 生ハム おいしかった。目の前で切ってくれる。原木はお手洗いの出入り口の横に置いてあった。広くない店内なので仕方ないけど、剥き出しのものなので、人がよく通る場所かつトイレの前かい笑...

A popular spanish place that ranks highly amongst similar establishments in Kanazawa. We enjoyed the ham, cheese and salt cod pirupiru (some sort of stew?) which all went well with bread. Hearty country fare. The paella was nice though the taste was rather mild, more sweet than savoury. Came with lots of pumpkin and a fish head, which added a seafood sweetness.
