Itaru — Restaurant in Kanazawa

A Japanese restaurant only have one type of cook on the menu. Nodoguro rice (one type of fish). Grilled with a light taste. 3 types of Delicacies = all more on salty taste. (Is nearly like salted fish). It cannot eat alone with it. Picked mackerel in bran = taste is just like salted fish. Luckily I ordered a vegetable salad to eat with the picked mackerel fish. 😂 The is very few type of side dishes.

The restaurant is clean and the service staff are friendly. Long qué for dine in. We waited for 1 hour plus. I would say... I dunno how to eat the only type of main dish served by this restaurant and not...

Visited here on Thursday night in May around 7pm and was lucky enough to get seated at the counter. Read so many good reviews about this izakaya in Kanazawa, so I was quite looking forward to trying variety of seafood dishes.

White shrimp kakiage tempura was excellent, but okemori sashimi for 2 at 2,600yen was just ok. Miso soup made from fish bones was just very salty and had no fish dashi flavour at all.

I heard a lot about the special fish - 喉のスネークヘッド （喉黑魚) caught in deep sea and full of fatty oil. This restaurant offers 3 ways to enjoy the fish with rice.

1. cooked fish with rice
2. add condiments to rice - sasame, scallion, wasabi
