FURANSU COCKTAIL BAR フランス — Restaurant in Kanazawa

Came in here for some late night drinks based on the glowing google reviews. It's easy to see why they have such a high rating, as this bar was an absolutely incredible experience.

The brothers that run the bar speak fluently in many different languages including English, Japanese, French and possibly others? They're incredibly charismatic and are always up for a chat with you.

It's worth visiting the bar just for the amazing staff alone, but in addition to that the cocktails they serve here are all incredible as well. Every cocktail on their menu has fantastic unique presentation, various different themes, and most importantly all taste amazing.

Try any of their main cocktails and you won't be disappointed; as you will be presented with various fire tricks, smoke infusion, 3D movie glasses, and many more fun things.

If you're not sure what you're after, just have a chat with the bar staff and they will ask a number of questions to try and work out your tastes and then recommend you to try certain drinks based on what you like. They can also of course make drinks that aren't on the menu as well, so just have a chat to them and go from there.

Delicious, fun, friendly, engaging... I'm out of adjectives. I think I heard about this bar online and knew we had to check it out so I was expecting good things - but blown away. Hands down best night out we've had so far in Japan. The cocktails are so perfectly crafted and prettily presented, which is to be expected from the photos. But the vibes! Immaculate. Everyone is so so friendly with the genuine goal to have a good time. You get to have a bit of a chat about the ingredients in what you order, to sus out if it's actually what you'll like. Twice tonight we were shepherded to a better option and absolutely adored the drinks (I mean, all 5 drinks were fab). Also, the actual setup of the bar felt so inviting. Ah, Furansu... I hate that I found this place.

Do I hate it because it's bad? no. On the contrary. It's the best cocktail bar I've ever been to.

Furansu is so good that months later you'll find yourself idly walking the streets of your city in a cocktail bar binge, chasing the dragon. It's so good that when someone mentions visiting Kanazawa you'll be like AH YES I KNOW OF SOME MUSEUMS THERE WE SHOULD TOTALLY CHECK OUT HAHAHA.

Don't go to this place unless you want every other cocktail bar experience ruined forever. If there's a bar worth visiting a city for, it's Furansu; the atmosphere inside can only be the result of people that love their craft and perform it with total dedication and passion. It's magical.
