An iconic and popular breakfast and brunch spot in Karuizawa, Stove Cafe Oxalis has a variety of western style breakfasts. The “Karuizawa Toast French Suzette” is a delightful take on French Toast covered with Suzette butter sauce. The Rösti Set is the owner-chef’s version of the Swiss soul food. There are larger versions which include waffles (Tony’s Special and Kevin’s Special) which are named after local regulars. Coffee is served in a thermos pot and the owner and his wife will chat up a storm (in Japanese) if you sit at the counter.

A wonderfully homely cafe specialising in waffles and potato rosti. Ordered both along with the omlette breakfast and everything was delicious, even the side salad. The service was warm and inviting like the atmosphere. We had a baby and the staff (who are probably the owners) were very welcoming.

French toast to me very delicious with Suzette sauce. Rosti average but I just loved the vibes here plus foc parking. Homely. Whats there to not like? Food cooked on actual stove. Very small place with only 4 tables. But warm and nice given its winter. I will come back for the french toast!
