Moumou Kashiwaten Steak House — Restaurant in Kashiwa

It's ok. Just Japanized steak restaurant... Theme seems to be cowboy esq but inside there are shirts and boots signed by soccer players who have visited all over the place, hanging up. Kinda ruins the atmosphere a bit...

Food was ok. Nothing special. Some things (particularly on the side menu) are expensive for what you get. The potato with tomato and cheese is expensive- 800 yen for what is basically half a medium sized potato chopped up with cheese sprinkled on it. 400 yen would've been a better price, or just more generous with the potato amount. It tasted ok, just felt ripped off. Soup that came with the lunch set was amazing. Tofu based salad was ok, nothing special. Beef patty was ok. Needed seasoning, but salt and pepper are on the table. Sets all come with rice (standard in Japan, but there are no other options, hence my "Japanized" comment). Chicken was good, a little overcooked... Probably because it's served on a hot/iron plate. Don't get the obsession with restaurants using these plates - steaks need to rest and those plates don't allow that to happen. And everything else just ends up overcooked/burned. Small amount of cut steak was good. Risked being overcooked because of the iron hot plate but I managed to move it off so that didn't happen. Let it rest a little bit and then found it to have quite nice flavour.

Dessert was either a grape flavoured jelly (tasted ok, jelly! Can't/shouldn't go wrong) or a banana smoothie thing... I say thing because it didn't really work and didn't taste that good.

Overall, not amazing but also not bad either....

This place has it all. I have only been here twice, for lunch, and both times I have fallen for in love with it's charming decor and delicious food. Momo Steak is without, unapologetically, the best steak I've had in my two years here in Japan. As an American raised on grilled beef, this is one of, if not only the places that I would recommend. The cuts of meat they have are fantastic. Hearing the country songs I would hear driving with my grandfather makes me feel 懐かしい. It is a wonderful place and it warms my heart knowing this is down the street from me. It is an absolute thumbs up, you will leave here with a full belly...

2023-07 柏市国道16号線沿いにあるステーキハウスです。 祝日の月曜日にはじめて利用しました。

クルマは店舗の裏に４台分ほど。国道側にも１台停められそうですが狭くて入りづらいのでハードルが高いです。 開店時間5分後の11時35分くらいに着くと、裏の駐車場がかろうじて１台分空いていました。

クルマを停めて裏側（？）から店に入ると「いらっしゃいませ。ご予約されていますか？」と聞かれました。 予約しないと入れないようなお店なんだろうか、、、と不安に思いつつ。予約はしていない旨を伝えると少し待たされてから、「お待たせしました。ご案内できますので、カウンターの奥のお席へどうぞ」とのこと。 ２人ぶんずつ区切られたカウンターの空いていた席に座りました。

これで予約席を除いては満席で、自分たちより後から来たお客さんは「満席ですのでお待ちいただけますか」とのこと。 どうやらかなりの人気店のようです。
