Omaya (Sawara branch) — Restaurant in Katori

What a great little find. We walked past during the day at the rear and equisitive walked to the front to see what it was. Had a little chuckle that it is open to 26:00 (2am) At night went for a walk down the edo area. Was left a little lacklustre with he choices along there so decided to come back and try this little ramen cafe.

We went in and were the only ones there. The menu is of course in Japanese and the host could only speak a little English. But through the magic of Google translate, we managed to order some beers and a set plus some rice with garlic and some fried chicken.

The food was absolutely amazing. My cocktail was delicious. The gyoza which was part of the set would have to be one of the best gyoza we have ever eaten.

All the food came very quickly and in a decent order with the right time in between.

2 other groups came when we were there and thier food was served really quickly as well.

We went to pay and was absolutely stunned at how cheap the meal for 4 was.

An absolute must if you are staying...

This is first time we come to Sawara city. We found a restaurant very close to our hotel . The food was surprising us , super delicious and the prices were not too expensive. We ordered a lot of food and almost finished all. Drinks are also cheap. I am highly recommend this restaurant when you come Sawara please come...

オープンしたばかりだから、まだキチンとお店が回せていないだけかとは思うのですが、 それなりに座席数があるテーブルは、お客が帰った後も片付けされずにそのまま放置で、新規にお客が来ても、片付けてお客が席につけるまで、まず5分ぐらい待たされるという試練が与えられるようです。

新規オープンのお店だったので、私は待ってみる事にしましたが、目の前で4人客が二組ほど帰って行きました。

待てずに帰ったのではなく、店員が料理提供できるまで、とても時間がかかるので、どうしてもというのでなければ無理です。と告げていました。テーブルや座席は片付けされていないで放置で、確かにテーブルは全滅でしたけどね。 オープン間もなくで、この対応は、カリスマ店の予感を感じさせますね。

店内の内装はラーメン屋さんだったら、まあこんなものかと思う質と居心地で、良くもないけど、ちょっとチープな感じで、まあこんなものでしょうという印象。気軽に入れる呑み屋風を目指しているのかな？

都内で激戦のラーメン屋さん、油そば屋さんと比べると、味はまあ並み。お値段も都内だったらこんなものでしょうし、コロナ以降値上げしないととジワジワ値上がりしているお店よりは良心的価格かも知れません。でも、佐原だと割高に感じてしまいますね。 メニューはラーメン、油そば以外に、酒のおつまみメニューは充実していました。

呑んで〆めにラーメンではなく、ラーメン食べながら色々飲み食いできる店としては悪くないかも知れません。 また、ホテルが近いので、宿泊客が利用するには、歩いてすぐ来れるので、それなりに繁盛しそうです。

ただし、私のような下戸でラーメン食べたいだけのお客にとっては、夕方以降しか営業してなくて、ランチやってないとか、ササッと利用出来るお一人様向けカウンター席が無いとか、だいぶ微妙です。

今後の営業方針や営業スタイルが変わってくれたら、また...
