Sawara Mitsubishi Hall — Local services in Katori

If you're needing a rest or some info, the Mitsubishi Hall is a great place to stop in at, but there's actually more there to see. The bank itself was interesting to visit for its history and architecture and they have a video guide available in a few languages which is helpful. And the staff running the info center were very friendly and helpful. It’s one of those old banks that used to actually be used. The curator is so nice and friendly that they even attempted to talk to use in English.

They said they used to see many French people visiting here (probably for architecture) but recently they see more people from the US.

千葉県指定有形文化財 の指定名称は『三菱銀行佐原支店旧本館』 大正3年（1914）に川崎銀行佐原支店 として建てられました。 昭和18年（1943）からは三菱銀行佐原支店旧本館として利用されてきましたが、平成元年（1989）に市（当時は佐原市）に寄贈されました。 保存修理を終え、建設当時の姿に近い形で復原されたのは令和4年（2022）のことです。
