Araddin Wakamatsu — Restaurant in Kitakyushu

Had an excellent chicken katsu curry at Araddin Wakamatsu. I got the very spicy version, which is the spiciest I've had so far in Japan (although still not spicy if you're used to eating any kind of spicy food). The curry sauce is vegetable based (carrots specifically), so the flavour is different from other Japanese curry restaurants but it is absolutely delicious!

Most of the reviews say something about the bad manners of the owner. I didn't find this to be so. Araddin seems to be a one-man show and he was simply busy. He didn't say much but I didn't find him to be rude at all. I also had some esophagus problems and was in the toilet for a while. When he had a minute he asked me how I was and once I explained in broken Japanese, he was very sympathetic and wished me well. If I am ever in the area again, I'll definitely...

クチコミを見てから来店したので、愛想ゼロ・いらっしゃいませなどもなし・独特の雰囲気なのを把握して行ったけど…それでもちょっとここまですごいの？って思うくらい無言の店主さんでしたw

13時半頃に入って、お客さんが他に2人。 空席のテーブルにはあちこち食べ終えたカレー皿が置きっぱなしの状態なので、何も置いてないところを探して座りました。 注文してから手元にカレーがくるまでけっこう待ちます。そして出来上がった品は無言で運ばれてきますw

わたしが頼んだホタテのフライカレーは、ホタテが大きくてボリューム満点！ ルーはにんじんの味がほんとに強くて、好みがかなり分かれそうな味。(個人的には好きです。)

ご飯の量や辛さも選べるし、好みのボリュームや辛さに出来るのはいいなと思いました。

お店の雰囲気も味も、意見がしっかり分かれそうなのでオススメしたいかと言われたら微妙です。 けど個人的な好みで言えば、カレーは美味しい！居心地は微妙だけどまた...
