GYUKATSU Kyoto Katsugyu Kokura Ekimae — Restaurant in Kitakyushu

I visited a gyukatsu restaurant in front of the station around 11:30 AM, and it was already full. I had to wait outside for about 15 minutes before getting a seat.

The gyukatsu itself wasn’t particularly special, but it was well-prepared and had a satisfying taste. One interesting feature of this restaurant was that they offered tongue gyukatsu (beef tongue cutlet), which is quite unique. However, after trying it, I noticed that it had a distinct aroma. If you’re sensitive to the smell of beef tongue, you might want to avoid this option.

Overall, it’s a solid gyukatsu place with good quality food. If you’re near Kokura Station and craving gyukatsu, I would recommend...

Would LOVE to have taken a photo... But it was just too fast and too good! A delicately crusted sirloin thin cut (katsu) with shredded cabbage, 3 sources including wasabi, miso soup, curry sauce and tea... If you prefer the stake done a bit more, you place it onto the tiny iron hot plate over a flame for about 15 seconds and your good to go! Lively Jazz playing in the background gives a vide that upscaled the appearance of the typical Japanese fast-food sized restaurant. Incredible presentation that represents a more expensive Japanese experience. All for around $10 USD!!...

We just had dinner here and we had the chuck tail flap gyukatsu with kobe beef set, tounge gyukatsu set and sirloin gyukatsu with beef sukiyaki set. All in all we love all the foods, expect the tongue a bit tough.

We recommended to try all the dipping sauce. For me personally i like the Sensho Pepper Salt, but my mom like the citrus soy sauce with Japanese radish.
