Well I was told it would be “memorable” to try to get Kobe Beef actually in Kobe. Certainly a memorable meal transpired here.
Booked a dinner reservation through gurunavi, which had been quite reliable at finding good places up to this point.
To say this restaurant is “no frills” would be an understatement. There were two staffers, unclear if they are the usual cooks, but they lacked usual pleasantries of service, and lacked any sort of finesse in their service or cooking. The “chef” was wearing a regular button down shirt.
I would describe the meal as “transactional” . Kobe (probably) beef was delivered, and cooked, for a fee. It tasted pretty good. The way a bad pizza can be good. It and the vegetables (slathered with oil and gently browned on the teppan) and garlic rice (delicious) were prepared with the care of a bored fifth grader completing their math homework.

How can you be sold out for the day at lunch time when ppl have a reservation for dinner. On top of that, if they really were sold out, where was the email or notification to let us know that they didn't have anything left before we showed up at dinner only to be turned away because they ran out of food. Ridiculous.. if it wasn't for us being in the area at lunch time and stopping in, we would have traveled back to our accommodations and headed their way at dinner time. Would have been a waste of our time and money on...

I also had the foie gras, it was my favorite. The vegetable plate was quite small though, however, prices were reasonable for the quality of the beef. I have paid double at a fancy restaurant in America where it wasn’t even half as good. I would...
