Suzumeno kakurenbo — Restaurant in Koya

We had the Family Rom for 2 nights and the room is really good. We chose this room as we wanted our own bathroom. The room has twin beds and a upper bed too as also foldable beds, I think there can sleep 5 or 6 people. As we had problems with the car we arrived quite late and hoped the owner would wait for us (we messaged) and they were there and we even could get some dinner. We were very thankful about that. Breakfast was good, its served in the restaurant. As we liked the food in the restaurant it was sad for us that we stayed there while restaurant was closed on the second day - as far as I know they are closed for 2 days in the week. I came twice to this place during my stay in Koyasan to eat in their restaurant since they had some great vegetarian and vegan options. The staff is very friendly and explained how the menu works and after dinner what to do for sightseeing. The second time I came I was in a hurry since I booked the cemetery night tour so they told me which dishes not to order since they needed longer time to prepare. They were very understanding and I made it to the tour! After a long day of walking on Koyasan, Suzume no Kakurembo is the perfect place to rest and sleep well. I highly recommend it for solo travelers like me and couples looking for an excellent value. The lovely innkeeper welcomed me and showed me to my room. Her hospitality is felt in the thoughtful decor and immaculate rooms. Even the shared bathrooms are spotless, modern, and pretty. Because I arrived on a Sunday, I did not get to try their restaurant that is open for dinner only.
