SHIVA Kengunten — Restaurant in Kumamoto

My biggest problem with this location is staff integrity.

Stopped by once at 14:20 to see if they were still opened.

The sign says until 15:00, but came by once before, before 15:00 and they were closed.

Anyway, this time they are open. So, parked the car went back and took a seat.

The integrity part is this. Between the time I asked if they were open and the time I arrived back, (7 mins) they removed the lunch menus specials from the tables.

I asked them about this with a wink, wink hey, what's up with that, and the server said they stop serving lunch at 3:00.

At the time it was maybe 14:35

Anyway, they gave me the correct menu and the food is sub par for Indian food.

The part that brothers me is the fact they took away the lunch menus, knowing I was coming back hoping I don't notice.

To me, quite dishonest and a reflection of what they think of me the customer.

My question is, if you're willing to do this, what else are they willing to do in the back of the house to save a few yen?

There are many better places to go.

Try Taj a.k.a. Nan and Curry. Truly authentic.

If you're without a job, you can eat for free.

It has been 8 years since my family and I lived across the street from this restaurant and to this day we HAVE NEVER had better Indian food. The handmade stone-baked cheese naan here is dreamy, you will never find anything like it. The side salad, butter chicken curry, and chicken tikka will forever be our favorites because of this restaurant. Although we will never find another like it we hope to visit it again one day ! Thank you for always being inviting to our little family and filling our bellies with great food...

I request to all Indians to Please do not go to Shiva restaurant in Kumamoto Japan... As the person working in Shiva restaurant is generally says that he do not like Indians....

It is very shameful for the owner... owner should understand that he has own Indian flag.. Indian God name...etc.. but the person working inside did a racism comment... I DO NOT LIKE INDIA AND INDIANS...

That person is Neither Indian nor Japanese...

I request you all to please avoid to go there...
