This was the most wonderful stay I’ve ever had at any hotel. ||||The room was comfortable, clean, and well stocked. Tatami mat floor and futon mattress were comfortable and warm. Beautiful view of the river and mountainside. Breakfast and dinner were included. ||||I have to eat gluten free and they were able to accommodate my meals accordingly. They went out of their way to assure me everything was safe to eat and explain what we were eating, translating it into English as well.||||Satoshi speaks English very well and what he doesn’t know he looks up to make sure nothing is lost in translation. He was so sweet, kind, and helpful and a pleasure to be around.||||Azusa was our host and server and made sure we had everything we needed. She was also so sweet and welcoming. ||||Kotsuke Hamamoto was our chef and did a wonderful job accommodating my gluten free diet. He still made traditional meals with just slight changes removing the gluten. The effort was very much appreciated. ||||The staff went above and beyond to make our experience really wonderful. I can’t recommend this place enough. ||||It’s also within walking distance to the Kiburne entrance for the Kiburne-Kurama hike (like literally steps away). This direction of the hike is easier as it begins with climbing up the mountain but the rest of the way is a descent down the mountain. The opposite direction (Kurama-Kiburne) has a lot more elevation gain. We hiked the mountain and stopped at all of the shrines and temples along the way. At the bottom in Kurama, you can take a bus to bring you back to Kiburne, but we walked it (roughly a half hour or so walk) and it was a nice and easy walk. The hotel also offers a shuttle to drop you off or pick you up in Kurama. ||||Mount Kurama is the birthplace of Reiki, a Japanese technique for healing. The mountain provides a peaceful energy that can be felt no matter where you are on it, even at the hotel. If you’re looking for true relaxation & renewal, this...

It’s a lovely place to enjoy kawadoko川床料理in the hot summer. We had conger eel shabu set which was fresh and tasty. The restaurant is just next to Kifune Shrine which makes the place more advantageous over the other places. Services were good. We had dinner and took their shuttle bus back to Kifuneguchi Eizan station. Booking online was convenient too.
