Kifune Club — Restaurant in Kyoto

Worst place I’ve been in Japan so far. Not only they make you wait really long for just overpriced ice with syrup (20 min), but they took my order wrong as a tourist. So don’t even bother to go as a non Japanese. Also they ask if you want to eat in their cafe or downstairs near the river without telling you about the extra 650 yen per person (which I paid but didn’t eat there because I didn’t have my ice cream, so thank you for taking advantage of tourists). I just realised once I went to complain about a missing parfait. The place upstairs is really small too. What a poor service, very very disappointing. There are better cafes around. Chanced upon this place when I initially wanted to try Nagashi somen at another place which was really crowded. This is a good alternative to enjoy some light bites and the cascading river.

I ordered the white miso cheesecake ¥850 and iced match latte ¥800 + matcha ice cream (+¥200). If you would like to sit at the river, you’ll need to pay an additional charge of ¥650 for the river side seats. Otherwise, you can sit in the cafe (no view of river) but I think it’s worth it for...

Lovely little cafe/restaurant. Curry rice was awesome (only available after 2pm, which is a shame for those who arrive earlier than that). And also tried tofu bowl, which was great too.
