Toriyone — Restaurant in Kyoto

My wife and I had our first meal here in Kyoto. It is a cozy environment for people who wish to enjoy some authentic Kyoto food. The service was also excellent.

We ordered one of the signature 京料理bento set and oyakodon set “親子丼セット”. For the bento set, it was such a piece of art which the presentation itself was so elegant. Every piece looked “simple” (without visible sauces) yet the taste is so rich and diverse from one to another. For the oyakodon, it is simply the best one we ever had in our life.

You only need to take note that the price might be slightly above average. Overall, it was great...

Excellent accueil, le personnel à l’accueil et au service est en kimono traditionnel, il a une grande salle mais aussi des petits salons privés avec vue sur le jardin japonais.

J’ai testé un repas Kaiseki (repas traditionnel gastronomique japonais) avec en plat principal leur spécialité qui est une fondue de poulet, tout était bon et leur poulet qu’on retrouve aussi dans plats, dont du poulet grillé, est excellent ! Ça change des Kaiseki qui tourne autour du poisson ou de la viande de bœuf.

Il y aussi d’autres plats pour un repas plus classique que le menu Kaiseki, et avec des prix...

松尾大社に行った際に立ち寄りました。

季節のゆどうふ御前をいただきましたが、もう、2度と行くことはないでしょう。

なぜなら… まずは、料理が出てくるまでに時間がかかりすぎでした。 切り干し大根、スープ、湯豆腐、揚げ出し豆腐が順番に出てきた後、最後の白ごはんが出てくるまでにどれだけ待たされたことでしょう。 それに、鶏ガラのスープはむせかえる程の生臭い臭いがして、とても口にできるものではありませんでした。 この食事内容で3,000円近いお代金とは、いくら京都とはいえ、高すぎです。

食事中、お冷ややお茶がなくなっていたときに、「すぐにお待ちいたします」と言ってくれたのに忘れられていて、違うスタッフに再度お願いしたところ、また忘れられていて、結局、10分以上もお冷ややお茶がありませんでした。

団体グループさんも2階でお食事をされるとのことで、待たされることも仕方がないのかもしれませんが、高い・不味い・遅いの3拍子そろったお店にはがっかりでした。
