Bocca burger — Restaurant in Miyakojima

While in Miyakojima we’ve eaten at Bocco Burger twice. The burgers are great as well as the fish sandwich. The onion rings are the best I’ve ever had and they are so big and the onions actually cut with your teeth! They’re not like the usual onion rings where you take one bite and the whole onion ring comes through leaving you with dough leftover. Also enjoyed some nice sweet potato chips or crisps. 🍔We had the Bocca burger, which is kind of a cheeseburger with a potato slice in the middle and pesto sauce. The patty is made of miyakogyu, a kind of wagyu and is as juicy as it gets.

Everything was delicious. The bun is just the right kind of fluffy and the vegetables are crisp and fresh. The side dish is a small minestrone soup with a slice of garlic bread.

The hamburgers are excellent, and so are the roasted vegetables and salad. They leverage local ingredients although the bread, while perfectly toasted, is a little sweet for my taste. But the hamburgers make up for it with room to spare. Ordering is via your mobile phone (read the QR-code at the table) and that is the only way to get the menu.
