I love this place. I ended up going twice, simply because the owner was such a great host. Friendly and very welcoming, as were the local folks. I initially went there after reading about the shark burgers they serve, but when I first arrived they were sold out. Come back tomorrow Evening when the next catch comes in he said, and I was about to leave when one of the locals asked me where I was from and I just ended up staying, ordering a beef burger and beer and just chatting for ages. The burger was simply amazing, the beef was local, it was perfectly prepared and the flavour was something else, as were the chips. Lovely. I also ordered some kawa. I've been to Japan four times, to pretty much every region you can imagine and this island bar was the first place I'd found this. It's basically deep fried chicken skin, salted and spiced, and it too was ridiculously tasty. That shark burger though.... I'd never tried shark until this point, but it wasn't at all like what I was expecting, it was softer than I imagined it to be, with a subtle flavour, the patty was breaded, with a salt undertone, the sauce on the burger was a great accompaniment to it and the bun, as with the beef burger, and bread in general in Japan, was perfect. The beer, was also very good. Yes, it was a warm evening in good company and with great bar food. Which meant it added up to a very memorable evening. One of several on this trip. If you're ever in Miyakojima, then be sure to visit K's pit diner, just pop in for a burger and beer. You...
Read moreLegit the best burger I've had in Japan. Better than many U.S. burgers honestly. Well seasoned and fresh, good sauce and toppings. Everything was really tasty. We got there after the regular patties were sold, so we tried the Miyako beef. Very nice flavor. I had the barbeque burger and my husband had the Cadillac burger. Both were excellent, with lightly toasted buns and delicious dressings. Try it first before adding anything extra, they really make an effort to get the flavor exactly right. As well as burgers we got fries because my husband ordered a set, they were awesome. Honestly I wish there was...
Read moreIt was a rainy in Miyakojima and my dad was craving a burger. As he is allergic to gluten we searched for a gluten-free restaurant. We found K’s PIT DINER and we loved it! Even though there were no gluten free burgers on the menu, the owner wrapped the patty in lettuce leaves and the outcome was delicious. We both had the bacon cheese salsa burger. Very good! We spoke with the owner who was lovely. The diner has a lot of memorabilia and retro stuff on the walls. There’s 60’s and 70’s music being played on repeat. Overall...
