System: All-you-can-drink or shots (no charge) . There is a wide variety of drinks and food available. There is billiards and darts. The inside of the restaurant has a tropical Miyazaki atmosphere. The inside of the store is quite large and can be rented for private parties. It can be enjoyed by a large number of people or by one person, regardless of nationality. Near the east entrance of Wakakusa Street, on the 3rd floor of the building where Paul Smith is located.

If pokey little karaoke bars isn't your thing - of which Miyazaki has about a zillion - The Bar has more of a pub feel; spacious, darts, free pool table, western bar food (fish n chips!), decent music i.e. not J-Pop. It gets a good crowd - a mix of Japanese and foreigners - Sean and Shin do a good job at catering for both and making everyone feel welcome. Possibly one of the only nightspots in Japan where you won't get lung cancer from secondhand cigarette smoke; a true oasis in the desert for non-smokers. There is an undercover smoking area for us diehards though. ;) They also show major sporting events and rugby on the projector screen. The football World Cup was really going off last...

I absolutely love The Bar! I stopped by a few times while visiting Miyazaki and had the chance to meet the owner, Sean - such a great guy. The atmosphere is welcoming, the drinks are great, and it quickly became one of my favorite spots. Can’t wait...
