Noto — Restaurant in Nagahama

I wanted to eat one of the specialities of the shiga prefecture - duck hotpot.

After getting rejected from several places because of their full capacity, I wandered around and stumbled upon this restaurant.

The staff were very welcoming even after knowing I couldn't read Japanese. They recommended me some dishes with the help of some visual aid from magezines to the other patrons' dishes.

Every dish I tried was amazing. I got to eat what I wanted to and more.

The atmosphere was great as the patrons were quick to engage in conversations with me upon knowing that I wasn't local. The staff and chef even chimed in occasionally as the night went on.

Shoutout to the patrons for initiating the conversation: Nagoya girl, Drunk jiji, and Sinshu (?)

以前から気になっていたお店でした。 今日は湖北を散策する計画で琵琶湖に行き、昼食をこちらで頂くことにしました。 能登さんは、湖魚を丁寧に調理して提供してくれるとのお話を聞いていたので、期待を膨らませて暖簾をくぐりました。 まず最初に、女将さんの丁寧な挨拶から始まり、お品書きの説明。 私は迷わず、お造り定食に鮒刺しを追加注文。友人は直前まで迷った挙げ句、まだ食べたことないというイサザの小鍋一品物を注文。すると、女将さんが、「定食にもできますよ」と嬉しい提案に、友人そく定食にランクアップ。さらに本もろこの焼き物を追加注文。 しばし待つこと···先にイサザ鍋が出てきました。上品な薄口の出汁に鮮やかな青色の葱とイサザ。一口分けてもらい、驚き！柔らかくて風味のある白身に感動。本もろこはもちろんのこと！ 続いて、私のお造りも出てきました。 私、もともと、湖魚が大好きで、琵琶湖の鮒刺しは刺し身の中で一番美味いと思っている次第。シーズン終期でありながら甘くて歯ごたえのある鮒刺しが食べられて幸せでした。そして、しじみの汁も風味豊かで絶品...
