Wait time was great as my party didn’t have a reservation. I had plenty of time to observe during the wait and while eating which led to a big part of my disappointment.
On a front table, there is a beer mug of a liquid with food shears inside. You could see food floating in the water. I watched two different servers use them to cut meat into smaller portions and stick them back into the liquid. How long was it sitting there. So I chose to order something that came in bite size pieces.
Servers’ hand hygiene while serving was nonexistent. I watched a server rub the rim of her nose. Another server kept rubbing her hair.
While waiting to be seated (we were next in queue), two servers looked at me and my friend, exchanged words and then burst into laughter. It doesn’t even matter what I assume they said but visibly me and friend were the only non-white or Japanese patrons. As we were seated, waitress is still laughing. After we ordered, the two female servers looked back at us and laughed again. It made the meal uncomfortable.
The japchae and Jajangmyeon left a lot to be desired. My japchae tasted as if something was scorched in the process. My coworker ordered the Jajangmyeon and didn’t finish it. From my observation, the sauce didn’t cover the noodles like they should.
On the bright side, the chicken was crispy which I’ve found hard to find in Japan. The flavor was good. Had I not observed the attitudes and hygiene of the servers, I would have come back to give the food...
Read moreFood The food is good, hot, and as expected for a Korean restaurant in Japan. If you need to satisfy your desire for Korean food in Nagasaki, this place should certainly do it.
Service The servers are not especially friendly. On the menu, the English translation was incorrect, and in my defense, so was the Japanese version. The menu listed one of the chicken flavors as 「ガラス」。The staff is young and fairly casual (yet not friendly), which is pretty far flung from the level of dedicated customer service that Japan is known for. For reference, I do speak Japanese, but my parents are here visiting and the staff readily ignores anything said in English. Naturally, this is Japan, and staff should not be expected to have to cater to foreigners, but to at least acknowledge that a customer is speaking would be good.
Atmosphere As for the environment, it consists of rather loud K-Pop and trendy decor. Considering those two features together, it’s seems clear this restaurant might target young women 15-30. I wish I had know that before I decided...
Read morethe prices on the menu do not match. I saw a cheese plate that I wanted to try and it cost 1980 yen. I also tried other dishes but it turned out that I could only order this plate for 4000 yen and it was not indicated anywhere. I also could not order from my phone for a long time because the pictures were not shown. thanks to the polite staff, but the menu that indicated the price, as well as the poor connection and lack of Wi-Fi made me leave there to a neighboring...
