Jambaru Taco — Restaurant in Nago

Initially stopped by this place months ago but it was closed—changed hours not listed on google. Since I live far, I stated next time I’m in town this would be one of my first stops! And boy am I glad I caught this place yesterday. Highly advise checking out their instagram handle for business updates. Learned they no longer do dining-in; everything is order through the take-out window. Also, please remember CASH ONLY (¥) as the person in front of me had to go get some cash. They have a bench you can sit on outside but it’ll only hold about 3 small people. I decided to waited in my car to beat the Oki heat. I’ve been to a few taco spot on island and this will be included in my top 5. The tacos were full, flavorful and I wished I ordered more after my last bite. I also ordered roasted thighs as I didn’t think my taco would be enough/filling. As you can see from the photo it was seasoned well, and juicy. Not sure if the included sauce was for the tacos or thighs nonetheless, I placed some on the taco and that subtle kick of heat set my taco up another notch! They served ketchup with tacos. And another condiment that tasted of spicy pasta sauce. I don’t think they are trying for fusion so they might try to research the differences between oregano and cilantro. The chicken was really tender and well cooked but could’ve used a bit more care with the seasoning. The beef was dry, but conversely, much better seasoned. And sadly the taco shells were greasy and a bit soggy. I wish someone had said something on here. It was the top few reviews that made me stop by. That said the service was efficient and friendly. Pretty good flavor on the taco meat and plenty of filling (meat cheese and lettuce)

About average price for other taco joints on the island, but the flavor and size of the tacos(beef taco) here is much better.

Taco rice was pretty good but nothing special.

Their hot sauce/salsa is the bomb. Get extra... especially if you like a little bit of spice
