上海味 — Restaurant in Nagoya

The people leaving lower than 5 star reviews are just wrong, this place exceeded expectations by miles. The food was great, the server (and chef) was the highlight without a shadow of doubt. I wanted a coffee (at like 10 pm) and after informing us that they don't have any coffee, he ran out and personally bought me 3 of his favorite canned coffees from somewhere nearby. I can understand the people disliking that it was a 'smoking-ok' restaurant however there is a big fan and despite multiple smokers sitting in the restaurant while I was there, the smoke was hardly noticeable. I was so impressed by the servers effort that they he earned a 10000 yen tip from me. I will for sure return next time...

If I could give this lovely establishment more than 5 stars, I most certainly would. The server was so friendly and accommodating, he brightened up our nights just by being around. The food was amazing, my favorite was the shanghai yakisoba. Props to the chef. Atmosphere was top notch. We were fully entertained while watching japanese comedy television, and drinking an ice cold asahi beer.

As well, the server was so kind to pack our unfinished food for us. Also, he gave us specific directions on reheating the food for maximum enjoyment. Hope to return...

Hands down some of the best food I’ve ever eaten! The sweetest waiter (may also be the owner..?) who helped us, because the menu was in Japanese.
