I have been here many times over the years and used to enjoy it quite a bit. Recently though (last year or so) I have been very disappointed. Their burger menu has changed so that you now have to choose every topping yourself. Imho that is the chefs job. Today I had the chicken cheese sandwich. The taste was okay but I found the bitterness of the chunks of lemon peel a bit jarring. The filling was quite small, and all squeezed together in the middle of the bread. Looked kind of lonely on the plate. I understand that this is common in Japan for convenience stores but I expected much more. Anyway, look at the uploaded picture and decide for yourself. Also, it looks like the signature Downey Style sandwich has also gone the “build it yourself “ route. The menu shows the sandwich and then lists a bunch of toppings that they recommend but aren’t included and I have to decide. I would be much happier if they would just raise the prices and return the quality.

I go to Downey 's for their delicious pies. I especially like the strawberry and blueberry ones. While I'm there I'll also give in and have the one vegetarian sandwich. Happily it's very good. If it isn't crowded (and thus noisy!!!) I like to hang out, read (one of their magazines) or do my own work.There is no wifi tho. A lot of people go there for their pancakes (the Sunday brunch is quite popular) if you're into pancakes. Late afternoons to early evenings many people from the nearby universities go to hang out. It's a nice atmosphere. unlike other branches of downey, this establishment is still cash only. #VegetarianFriendly #GreatMusic #GoodPlaceToHangOut #GreatDessert #GreatCake #LetsGuide

They also have books about American related📚, posters about american films 🎥 in the walls and a flag that symbolizes California 🐻. The restaurant is located within the University hub It took me around 10 minutes walk from Nanzan University so I guess it will be one of the best places for students to study 📖. I recommend Faculty teachers and students to go here! 💯😄

They also have books about American related📚, posters about american films 🎥 in the walls and a flag that symbolizes California 🐻. The restaurant is located within the University hub It took me around 10 minutes walk from Nanzan University so I guess it will be one of the best places for students to study 📖. I recommend Faculty teachers and students to go here! 💯😄
