Ben Kei Sushi — Restaurant in Naha

Visiting from London with my son who cannot eat gluten. The husband and wife team could not have been more helpful in checking every ingredient. The sushi was awesome as was the Japanese tea and meso soup. The owner was very talkative while he freshly prepared my meal. I cannot fault the food or the experience or the cost. 15 pieces of sushi for 2100 Yen. Domo Arigato! Note For coeliacs, the vinigar in the rice has barley malt and my son had to eat elsewhere. But I stayed to enjoy this...

Ordered nigiri piece by piece here (110 yen per piece). Not a fish expert, but the salmon was very lean (and delicious), while the gizzard shad and vinegared mackerel were my favorites. Would return for these three fish. The scallop, whelk, and octopus were decent. The tuna and sea urchin was okay.

The two people running the restaurant were very kind, friendly, and helpful to us. The food was a good price and the sushi was very tasty. We were a group of 3 and spent around ¥4000 (We ordered a lot). Also there’s an English menu. I’m definitely coming back next time...
