Before checking in to my flight from Naha Airport, I decided to have a solo lunch here. Since I love squid ink soup, I had been eyeing the Ikasumi Motonari, so I stopped by Menya Gu Motonari. It’s located on the third floor of the international terminal.
First, I purchased my meal from the vending machine. The menu included Tonkotsu Motonari, Ebi Rayu Red Motonari, Yushi Tofu Motonari, and Chinese noodles, among others. Without hesitation, I ordered the Tamago Ikasumi Motonari for JPY 1620. I chose the regular firmness for the noodles. I handed my ticket to the staff and took a seat at the designated area. There are counter seats and table seats available. Water is self-service.
I requested a paper apron, which is essential when eating squid ink. When the ramen arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the squid ink soup—it was delicious! Recently, I’ve encountered many places claiming to specialize in squid ink but serving bland versions. However, this one had a rich flavor, likely due to the combination with the ramen broth, which was great.
